I love being God’s hands in Honduras
I love watching Fernando and
Carlos build a tree house as a team.
I love watching Ariel and
Christopher wheel barrow a huge amount of trash every day without complaint.
I love seeing the Christian
relationships built over 10 months by these World Racers
I love evangelizing SIDE BY SIDE in the park with Herman, telling our
life stories and of God’s power to anyone who will listen.
I love watching our boys hand out
tracts to people on the street and dance around to worship songs.
I love hearing each one of them
give prepared messages during our meetings at night.
I love being able to bring a
meal, conversation, and a simple touch to people who spend their lives living
in a dump.
I love watching the boys pray
over each other, and over the adults as well.
I love that when it’s time to
pray, at least 2 or 3 hands go up to volunteer.
I love the peace that God gives me when I sit on the prayer wall and
look out at His beautiful creation.
I love waking up every day to a
community where I’m greeted with an enormous amount of love and kisses on the
cheek.
I love being able to work for a
ministry that I whole heartedly believe in.
I love seeing the fruit of seeds
planted in the past.
I love working with old friends
and meeting new ones.
I love being able to serve those
around me.
I love watching God heal some of the incredible pain in these boys’
hearts.
I love being able to see, even if
for a small time, Henri and Josue who I worked so much with last summer.
I love being challenged and
encouraged every day.
I love that God is not content
with me staying in my comfort zone.
I love watching Fernando curl up
with Tony whenever possible.
I love that these kids no longer see themselves as street kids.
I love falling asleep, exhausted,
and knowing that I accomplished what God wanted me to accomplish that day.
I love going into Los Pinos and
seeing my old friends.
I love thinking about baby
Genesis’ future being raised in this community.
I love knowing that at this time
in my life, I’m exactly where God wants me to be.
I love enjoying the little
things.
I love falling asleep under rain
on a tin roof.
I love driving in Honduras, it makes
me feel like I’m at home.
I love seeing a 15 year old girl, who only knows her value in attention
from men, begin to have community with Christian women.
I love seeing a group of North
Americans, protected by God, staying the night in Los Pinos.
I love living in a community
where “tell me your life story” is a normal conversation starter.
I love that I don’t miss home.
I love being given
responsibility.
I love seeing God’s beauty in the mountains of Honduras.
I love building such strong
relationships with these boys.
I love my Bible and prayer time
with Herman every morning.
I love that never in my life have
I ever imagined (or really desired) that I’d be living overseas, working with
teenage boys, until now.
I love that these boys treat each
other like brothers.
I love that, for whatever reason,
God has chosen to put His name on me and send me out to do His work.
I love that this won’t be my last
time in Honduras.
I love when the boys stop what
they’re doing, even if it’s just pulling chicken or sitting on the couch, to
tell me that they enjoy spending time with me.
I love seeing Tony’s heart and passion
for these boys.
I love witnessing God move in Honduras.
Molly Hornsby. I have to say that this made me smile to read this. So very proud of you! Thank you for your obedience to GO where God called you to and for working with teenage boys of all people. :)
