Big news – I’m home!!
I’m sitting right now in my home here in Tegucigalpa,
Honduras, overwhelmed by God’s provision and just how quickly He can put
everything together!
About a month ago, God confirmed that He was calling me to
leave Zion’s Gate, get my own home, and continue the ministries He has given me
here, but as an independent ministry. Shortly after that, I was home visiting
for the holidays, and God provided financially in huge ways for all the new
things He is calling me into. Before I even had time to worry about monthly
rent costs living in the city, the price of a car, etc, He was already
providing for them! Then once I got back to Honduras, in just five short and
VERY busy days preparing for the Los PInos Christmas event, He already had picked
out the perfect house for me and I was putting down the first and last month’s
deposit. A week later I moved in, and here I am, just in time to celebrate Christmas in my own home. Talk about a whirlwind!
I’m so glad God’s hands have been directing this whole
process, and He has been throwing confirmation after confirmation my way as I
move forward.
I know lots of you have heard and talked with me personally
about what this means for ministry, but for those of you who haven’t, here’s a
quick rundown.
The ministry: Future of Hope
Family Ministry
The vision: Walking alongside
the forgotten and abandoned as they journey towards hope and wholeness in
Jesus’ name.
What does this look like? In four parts:
v Nurturing and caring for Asmin and Anderson
full time as they move into a home with me, raising them and discipling them on
a daily basis.
v Walking along side the families I know in
Los Pinos. My support in Los Pinos depends on the needs of the families, and
includes fostering family and community ties, addressing physical needs
(medical emergencies, education sponsorship, and nutritional support),
listening and praying with women who have no one walking along side of them,
and connecting those in need to the many little known resources Honduras
offers, from education and employment to counseling and healthcare. I will see God restore this
community!
v Hosting community events for the purpose of
family fellowship,
celebrations such as birthdays, graduations, and new babies, and large community celebrations for
Christmas and other holidays to spread God’s name and His love all over these families.
v Discipling a group of teenage girls, the little ones in my home, and
others as God puts them in my path.
I have been blessed to be surrounded by so much support,
many pastors and veteran missionaries, here in Honduras and back home. They
have helped to counsel me and guide me during this transition. Every single day
I submit this ministry to the Lord and let Him have His way with it. He created
it, He will sustain it, He will guide it, and He will bear the fruit.

Please pray with me for this ministry, for the families in
Los Pinos, and for all of God’s children here in Honduras:
“For I know the plans I have for
you,” declares the Lord,
“plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” –
Jeremiah 29:11
